SULLIVAN AND GRABER’S RED HOT OCTOBER

By: Lee S. Befeler, Esq.

October was a great month at Sullivan and Graber. Associate Rafael Llano prevailed in an insurance coverage action on behalf of the defendant. The plaintiff claimed that his boat was damaged in a covered loss. The plaintiff changed the date of loss at the time of trial. Our client retained the services of a marine surveyor, who testified that damage to the boat was caused by corrosion and long term wear and tear. Following a bench trial, Judge Escandon found that the plaintiff had not met his burden of proof. No money was awarded.

Partner Lee Befeler and Associate Danyelle Golland presented an ICLE seminar on the use of information obtained in medical provider investigations to defend third party bodily injury claims. The seminar was given at the New Jersey Special Investigators Association’s 27th annual seminar in Atlantic City and focused on the importance of immediately evaluating a claimant’s medical records to assist in related claims. It highlighted the techniques and strategies employed by Sullivan and Graber to generate positive outcomes in several third party actions
