MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO CONSPIRING WITH DOCTOR IN FRAUD AND KICKBACK SCHEMES

On February 1, 2016, the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office issued a press release indicating that Mohammed Shamshair pled guilty to paying 22 doctors $1.76 million in kickbacks for referrals of patients. Mohammed Shamshair admitted to paying 12 doctors $1.56 million in return referrals to Dr. Manoj Patharkar and his two pain management clinics. Mohammed Shamshair admitted to paying more than $200,000 in kickbacks to 10 additional doctors connected to a kickback scheme with Rehan Zuberi.
