DONUT WAR

Sullivan and Graber had its first Donut War in February, titled Old School vs. New School. Partner and Montclair resident Gordon Graber provided two unmarked boxes from rival Montclair bakeries. Each box contained 12 classics such as jelly, glazed and powdered.

The newer, hipper bakery dozen costs $15 and the other old fashioned, $6. We spent the day “testing” (thoroughly enjoying) both boxes but in the end, old school won. The $6 box won in a landslide, 12-2.

It just goes to show you that in the bakery world old school means good quality products that stand the test of time
